Catching up a bit

Life gets in the way of posting from time to time, but rest assured, jesuitHOOPS was following the action.

HOLY CROSS wins the Patriot League title and adds another Jesuit school to the tourney mix.
Bucknell was down by as much as 19, but the 'Cross was able to pull it out, thanks to a freaky good streak of free throw shooting toward the end of the game.

HC athletics coverage |

3 Jesuits make it to A-10 Quarters, 2 to the semi's
As it turned out since the last time I posted- St. Joe's was soundly defeated by #3 GW.

In today's action, top-seeded Xavier was downed by #4 URI 79-71. Box Score
Barring a major upset, the Jesuit-heavy A-10 might be without a Jesuit Champion. GW plays #7 SLU tonight at 9p in Atlantic city- winner heading to the finals.

Boston College survives Miami
And survives might be the best word for it. Up by as much as 14, Miami had no answer to Tyrese Rice's career-high 32 points.

G'town vs. Notre Dame in progress
The Catholics are going at it now. Update soon.

STAY TUNED!

The Genesis

The genesis of jesuitHOOPS comes from an unlikely source: a commercial on ESPN for the WCC Tournament Final between Santa Clara and Gonzaga. Interesting I thought, that there would be two Jesuit schools competing for an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. Who else might really care about this? Probably more than just me, and thus it begins.

Stay posted for everything college basketball - Jesuit style.
